Canonical installation of new Talibon Bishop Tuesday

TALIBON, BOHOL – Most Reverend Patrick Daniel Y. Parcon, D.D. will be canonically installed Tuesday as the second Bishop of the Diocese of Talibon vice Mons. Christian Vincent F. Noel who is retiring.

Site of the liturgical and solemn rites to start at 9:30 am is the Most Holy Trinity Cathedral in this town.

His Eminence Geuseppe Pinto, Papal Nuncio to the Philippines will grace the occasion with some 20 bishops from the Visayas and Mindanao and about 200 clergies are expected to witness and join the celebration. Archbishop Jose Palma of Cebu will deliver the Homily, according to Rev. Fr. Antonio Tutor, Jr., the Diocesan Chancellor.

On Monday evening, a welcome Party for the visiting prelates and priests will be hosted by the local government unit led by mayor Restituto Auxtero.

Meanwhile, Mons. Noel had reached the mandatory retirement age at 75 with almost 28 years in fruitful service and tendered his retirement in late 2012, just a year after the Diocese of Talibon celebrated her Silver Anniversary in year 2011.

On the other hand, Bishop-elect Parcon, who hails from Villahermosa town in Negros Oriental was appointed to succeed Mons. Noel on June 02 this year. At the age of 52, Patrick Daniel Yee Parcon, the first to be named Bishop from the Diocese of San Carlos, Negros Occidental received his Episcopal Consecration last Friday ( August 22) at the Cathedral of San Carlos Borromeo, San Carlos City.
