Chinese New Year at Island City Mall


Usher in the Year of the Dragon with a Chinese New Year celebration at the Island City Mall, tomorrow, January 23, featuring Chinese songs and dances to be performed by students from Bohol Wisdom School, starting at 3 PM, at the Activity Center.

Lion dancers from Cebu will also parade around the mall on January 28, Saturday, at 3 PM, while sky lanterns will lit up the night sky at the Carpark, at 8 PM on the same day.

One can also avail of one (1) special Tikoy at One Peso (P1.00) only, for every minimum cash purchase worth Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000) at the Supermarket. Receipts are valid only on the date of purchase.

Tomorrow, Chinese around the globe will celebrate Spring Festival, popularly known as the Chinese New Year, which is one of the most revered and festive events celebrated not only in China but also in the Philippines by both Chinese-Filipinos and ordinary Filipinos as well.

Meanwhile, local Bisaya-rock group Yordaddy is the featured band today, January 22, in BANDuary 2012, a weekend band feature every Saturday and Sunday this month of January, 4 PM at the Activity Center. Performing yesterday was another wacky reggae group, Estranghero. On Sunday, January 29, 4 PM, at the Activity Center, is the January Search of Mannequins Live! Model Search 2012.
