UB VDT-ALC tankers shine at Milo National Finals, CVIRAA 2011

Two pupils from the University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol-Advanced Learning Center (VDT-ALC) made big waves in the pool by bagging gold, silver and bronze medals during the 2011 Milo Little Olympics National Finals held last November 19-20, 2011 in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Be-medalled tanker Patrick Louie Birad grabbed the gold medals in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly, silver medals in the 50m breaststroke and 100m freestyle and  bronze medals in the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly. He also got silver medals in all relay events, 4×50 and 4×100 medley and 4×50 and 4×100 freestyle.

Meanwhile, another top performer, Nathalie Deanne Fredensborg, bested other national swimming finalists when she won  gold medal in the 4×100 freestyle relay.

On the same vein, ten swimmers  who participated under  Tagbilaran City Division Swimming Team in the recently concluded Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA)  Meet  – 2011 brought home the baconwhen all of them reaped  medals in the different divisions and events: Patrick Louie Birad – gold, 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle; Nathalie Deanne Fredensborg –silver, 4×50 free relay (girls)  and bronze, 100m backstroke, 4×50 medley relay (girls); FelliesseKarylIbale – silver, 4x50m free relay (girls) and bronze, 100m backstroke, 4×50 medley relay (girls).

Rian Marco Tirol – silver, 4x50m free relay (boys); John Lemuel Lopez – silver, 4x50m medley relay (boys) and 4×50 free relay (boys); DeaTsyna Saco – bronze, 4x50m medley relay (girls); Jennifer Charles –  silver, 4×50 free relay (girls), bronze, 4×50 medley relay (girls) ; Emma Sapphire Duroy – silver, 4×50 free relay (girls), bronze, 200m freestyle; Jason GinnLopena – silver, 4x50m free relay (girls), bronze, 4×50 medley relay (girls) and  FrnzeelloKeamIbale – bronze, 100m freestyle. The team’s official coaches are Vincent J. Indig  and Jason Lopena of the elementary and secondary levels respectively.
